The drone should be certified for 5G vertical accelerations.
Wing joiners are conceived with carbon sleeves. To ensure that they can resist to 5G overload, mechanical simulations have been done.
In case of overload, wing joiners will bend due to the increase of load on the wings. As a result, wing joiners will be stimulated in compression on the upper side and in tension on the lower side.
To improve the simulation model, real bending tests have been applied to the wing joiner to measure its real characteristics and calculate its mechanical properties (Young Modulus and fracture stress of the carbon sleeves).
